banegård

Definition

Railway station, written banegård. The word is used for the main station of a town, and Copenhagen's central station is the Hovedbanegård, the main railway yard. Signs and maps use it to point travellers toward trains. Stations are usually where regional trains meet local buses, but ticket rules differ by operator, so check them before boarding.
