What are the main islands of Denmark?
The answer
The largest islands, in order, are Zealand, Vendsyssel-Thy, Funen, Lolland and Bornholm, according to Statistics Denmark. Zealand holds Copenhagen, and Funen holds Odense. Vendsyssel-Thy is the northern tip of Jutland, cut off from the rest by the Limfjord. Falster, Møn and Amager are linked to the road network too. Many smaller islands, such as Samsø, Ærø and Fanø, are popular for quiet trips. Statistics Denmark's 2012 yearbook counts 73 inhabited islands, so the choice is wide.
