Question hub
Is Denmark small enough to see in a short trip?
The answer
Denmark is compact on paper but slower to cross than the map suggests. Statistics Denmark gives its land area as 42,957 km², yet the country is split into a peninsula and many islands, so most journeys include a bridge or ferry. A short trip works best around one or two areas, such as Copenhagen plus Funen, or Aarhus plus the west coast, rather than the whole country. Allow extra time for crossings, weather and waiting at stations. See also the guide Planning a Denmark Itinerary That Actually Works.
