Question hub
Can I cycle between towns?
The answer
Yes. Denmark has 11 national cycle routes totalling 4,787 km according to the Danish Road Directorate, plus regional and local routes, and VisitDenmark reports more than 11,000 km of signposted routes. Most towns have separate cycle tracks, and the terrain is mostly flat or gently rolling, so the wind is the main challenge. Choose an official route map or app, plan distances moderately, and check the rules for taking your bicycle on trains and ferries before relying on them.
